BGC Cement have won the contract to supply approximately 20,000T of cement to Hanson Australia for the Albemarle Group’s Kemerton Lithium development.

The cement will be used along with other Supplementary Cementitious Materials (SCM) to produce somewhere in the vicinity of 70,000m3 of concrete, for concrete works to be completed by Hanson.

The plant, located at the Kemerton Industrial Park 20km north of Bunbury, is expected to have an initial production capacity of 60,000-70,000 metric tonnes of lithium hydroxide with approximately 300 jobs created during construction and 500 jobs at full production which is expected to commence in 2021.
